Meeting of Representatives of the Episcopates of Latin America, USA and Canada, in Tampa, Florida

Representatives of the Church of Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM) (Representing the Churches of Latin America and the Caribbean), Canada, and the United States, are meeting in Tampa, Florida (USA), from February 17 until Thursday February 20.

 

The program and coordination are under the responsibility of CELAM. Among the issues to job are of the Apostolic Exhortation “Querida Amazonía”.

 

The president of CELAM and archbishop of Trujillo, Msgr. Miguel Cabrejos Vidarte OFM., and the executive secretary of the REPAM, Mauricio López Oropeza, will be talk about questions of the “political crisis that many Latin American countries are experiencing, the renewal of the clergy, the presentation of the activities of Caritas Internationalis, the migratory phenomenon, youth pastoral work and the role of emeritus bishops”.

 

This is a meeting that has more than 40 years of tradition and seeks to maintain communication and fraternal dialogue between ecclesial representatives, as well as to encourage discussion on issues of common interest, to strengthen the episcopal collegiality of the Church of the Americas.
